When leadership meets crisis for the first time, you find out a lot. What people are made of. How they respond under pressure. Whether they succeed or fail.
Claire Chandler and Ben Baker are the co-authors of a new book, Leading Beyond A Crisis: A Conversation About What’s Next. I had the pleasure of speaking with them in this episode of the Go For Launch podcast.
Chandler helps complex, growing businesses build sustainable, profitable organizations. As president and founder of Talent Boost, she leverages over 25 years of experience in business leadership, human resources and communications to boost leadership alignment and effectiveness.
Baker is the founder of Your Brand Marketing. Ben helps clients understand what makes them special, unique and engaging. For the past 25 years, he has been helping companies communicate internally and developing the next generation of leaders. Through his work, brands tell engaging and meaningful brand stories that elevate and engage employees and compel customers to take action.
As Chandler says of the global pandemic in 2020, “We have been coming off of a very prosperous economy, and some companies were truly unprepared and had not done the hard work during the good times of shoring up what worked so well.”
Baker added, “Many Millennials have worked for the past 10 years, and some are now in management roles—and they have never known crisis.”
The conversation focuses on how to embrace any crisis and turn it to your advantage.
